How to Talk About Your Work Without Bragging
Last Updated on February 5, 2026 by Dan Stenabaugh
You don’t need to tell people you’re great.
You need to tell them what you’ve done.
Try this structure:
- what the job was
- what problem it solved
- how the homeowner felt afterward
Example:
“They had a leak that kept coming back. We traced it to flashing around the chimney and fixed it for good.”
That’s confidence without chest-thumping.
